100 years ago, in another lifetime, long before I was an architect, I was a set decorator for film and television. During that time, I designed and built a house, off the grid, in Hawaii. The house was really a compound composed of small "huts" connected together with covered decks and walkways. It was with this project that I decided to study architecture.
